Yu Xuemei, Vice President of SUIBE

Yu Xuemei, female, Han nationality, a native of Dalian in Liaoning Province, was born in January 1971. She holds a doctorate degree in philosophy and is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and German Humboldt scholar. She began to work in July 1993 and joined the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang in July 2005.

She received her B.A. degree from the Department of German Language and Literature at Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1993, her M.A. degree from the Department of  German Language and Literature under Tongji University in 1999, and her Ph.D. degree in Humanities from the Technical University of Berlin in Germany in 2004. From 2004 to 2008, she conducted her postdoctoral research at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and then at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany. She was a faculty member of Tongji University and the Technical University of Berlin. She served as a project official of the European Division of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department under the Ministry of Education (on secondment), Deputy Director of the Financial Bureau of Pudong New Area in Shanghai (serving in a temporary position), Vice Chairman (non-standing) of the Political Consultative Conference at Yangpu District, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Executive Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, Head of the International Education College, and Director of the Preparatory Department for Studying in Germany under Tongji University. In March 2021, she was appointed as Vice President of SUIBE. She is currently Vice Chairperson of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK ) and a member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC ). Her leading part-time position is Executive Member of the Council of Translators Association of China.

She is mainly engaged in research in cross-cultural communication, the German language and culture, and philosophical psychology. She has won the honors of Outstanding Young Teacher in Shanghai Higher Education Institutions, and Advanced Management Worker of the Ministry of Education Training Center for Overseas Study. She has published dozens of academic papers, four academic monographs (edited) in Iudicium Verlag GmbH in Munich, Germany, and two translations of psychology in the Commercial Press.
