On September 29, SUIBE held a seminar on thefirst exhibition to be held at its museum and the second-round expert counseling conference. President WangRongming and Vice President Yu Xuemei attended the seminar.
President Wang stressed that the construction of SUIBE museum is a major measureto implement the remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on building stronger cultural confidence and promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. It is aconcrete action to build a platform for cultural exchange and an important front for culture-and-arteducation. It also enables the university to serve the society and puts culture-oriented education into practice. The museum will function as both an SUIBE facility and an exhibition hall for the public, to offer more social services while cultivating students, President Wang added.
SUIBE issued the letters of appointment to seven expertsattending the seminar, inviting them to be consultants of the museum. Museum curator Ding Ye, reviewed the constructionof the museum in the past year and introduced the preparations for itsfirst exhibition, one to displayChinese porcelain culture on European culture. During the seminar, the experts provided a series of suggestions for the construction of the SUIBE museum.
