SUIBE Opens 2022 Summer Program of Applied Microeconometrics

The 2022 “Applied Microeconometrics” summer program hosted by SUIBE officially kicked off on Aug 1. Themed Economic Research for the Real World, the program was conducted online. Prof. Wang Rongming, President of SUIBE, Prof. Lu Ming, Distinguished Professor of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Prof. Liu Shouying, Dean of the School of Economics, Renmin University of China attended the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, President Wang delivered a speech. On behalf of SUIBE, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese Association of Young Economists and all the distinguished speakers and extended warm welcome to all the lecturers and students participating in the program. He pointed out that “Economic Research for the Real World” is a permanent theme of the summer program, which has become an important academic platform where young economists communicate with each other and grow together. The courses shared by outstanding scholars during the program would present clearer the charm of modern economic theories, as well as the insight of economics into reality, thus turning participants into problem-oriented “active researchers” that are able to make greater contributions to China’s economic progress and innovative economic development, he said. In conclusion, he wished the summer program a complete success.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Liu from the School of Economics of Renmin University of China delivered the first academic lecture of the summer program themed “Institutional Details and Nature of Institutions”.
