SUIBE Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Municipal Government of Suzhou

SUIBE signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the municipal government of Suzhou on July 28.

Zhou Hanmin, member of the standing committee of the CPPCC National Committee and vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, Wang Rongmin, SUIBE president, Qi Ming, vice chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and vice president of SUIBE and Yu Xuemei, vice president of SUIBE attended the signing ceremony.

A collaborative innovation center jointly built by SUIBE and Suzhou Industrial Park’s pilot free trade zone, a training base for foreign-related talents and the SUIBE Jinji lake institute for global trade governance, were unveiled at the ceremony. Cao Lubao, member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee and secretary of the CPC Suzhou municipal committee, met the SUIBE delegation.




At the meeting, Cao Lubao, on behalf of the CPC Suzhou municipal committee and the Suzhou municipal government, extended his welcome and gratitude to the delegation for its long-term support for Suzhou’s economic and social development. He said that SUIBE boasts distinctive characteristics and rich fruits in the cultivation of economic and trade talents, as well as the decision-making consultation and research in the field of global economy and trade. He said that Suzhou is a large opening market and an economic powerhouse, adding that the two sides enjoy broad prospects of cooperation. He hoped that the exchange and cooperation could be strengthened to further drive Suzhou’s foreign-oriented economy towards high-quality growth and enhance the city’s international influence.




Zhou Hanmin pointed out that Suzhou plays an important role in a series of national major strategic plans and schemes such as the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta, and the building of a new development pattern. It is believed that Suzhou will make greater achievements in every field under such a great strategic background, he added.

Wang Rongming hoped that both sides can take the agreement as an opportunity to carry out more pragmatic cooperation on industrial development. SUIBE will leverage its advantages to provide all-around support for Suzhou to expand foreign economic and trade cooperation, promote the construction of free trade zones and cultivate international economic and trade talents.





According to the agreement, the two sides will bring their own advantages into play and make use of their co-constructed platforms, to carry out researches on foreign economy and trade in the new era. They will also enhance cooperation on education, promote human resource and think-tank connectivity, launch characteristic teaching researches and build platforms of exchange and cooperation for foreign economy and trade talents.
