SUIBE Holds 4th Chinese University Student Archery Championship

On May 21, the opening ceremony of the 4th Chinese University Student Archery Championship was held at SUIBE. The Championship was sponsored by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), organized by SUIBE, and co-sponsored by the Federation of University Sports of Shanghai (FUSS) and Shanghai Archery Association (SAA).

Before the opening ceremony, SUIBE held aninaugural conference forthe archery branch of the FUSC. Mr. Zhang Ailong, deputy secretary-general of the joint secretariat of the FUSC of the Ministry of Education (MOE), Ms. Guo Bei, executive vice president of the traditional bow branch of the Chinese Archery Association (CAA), Ms. Gu Jieyan, deputy mayorof Songjiang District, and Mr. Wang Rongming, president of SUIBE unveiled the plaque for the archery branch.





On behalf of SUIBE, Mr. Wang Rongming delivered a welcome speech, in whichhe gave a brief introductionto SUIBE and itsachievements in developing Chinese traditional sports. He hoped that this championship could strengthen exchanges and cooperation among colleges and universities, serve as an event promoting teaching, learning, friendship and education, and make newer and greater contributions to the inheritance and promotion of theChinese traditional archery culture.





A total of 374 athletes from 61 colleges and universities across the country took part in the four-day archery championship consisting of traditional bow and recurve bow games.
