On the morning of June 14, SUIBE 2019 undergraduate commencement and degree awarding ceremony was held at Room 507, the lecture hall of the Information Building. University leaders, school heads and directors of related administrative departments, teacher representatives, graduating class counselors and over 300 graduate representatives attended the graduation ceremony.
At 9:30 in the morning, the ceremony officially started with the majestic national anthem.
Firstly, CHEN Jie, SUIBE Vice President, read the commendation declaration for outstanding graduates of Shanghai and SUIBE, and university leaders awarded honorary certificates to graduates gaining their honorary bachelor's degree, and those who are rated as outstanding graduates of Shanghai and SUIBE respectively. Yin Yao, secretary of SUIBE party committee, then awarded advanced individual certificates to Liao Ying, MengQianYu and WANG ShangFeng, who determine to work for the grass-roots. After that, Prof. XU Bo, Dean of School of Management, as a teacher representative, XU Jie from School of Business as a representative of undergraduates, and Yousa, a Russian student, as a representative of international students, made speeches successively.
Finally, SUIBE President WANG Rongming made an inspiring speech entitled Light upthe essence of youth, extend the depth of life. At the very beginning, he extended his warm congratulations to all the graduates on behalf of the whole university and also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the parents and teachers. He said that SUIBE is not only a university with glorious history, but also a university with huge development potential and great cohesion. During the speech, the president also showed his ardent expectation to the graduates by quoting the compound interest thinking in economics and encouraged them to uphold the fine traditions of SUIBE and devote themselves to the realization of the Chinese dream.
At the end of the ceremony, university leaders jointly completed the graduation etiquette, granted degree certificates and academic certificates to the graduates, and finally took group photos with the students.
