A six-member delegation of the Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development of Croatia and Mr. Drazen Holmik, Director of Croatian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai visited SUIBE on March 7. President Zhu Guohong met with the delegation.
After extending a warm welcome, President Zhu introduced to the delegation SUIBE and its recent development, took stock of the cooperation and exchanges between SUIBE and the University of Zagreb, and expressed the wish that the two universities continue to expand the cooperation and player a greater role in promoting China-Croatia cooperation in science and technology, education, economic and trade.
SUIBE delegates introduced our research endeavors on topics related to the Belt and Road Initiative and the engagement in Middle and Eastern European studies. The Croatian delegation expressed the willingness to see further cooperation between the two universities in research and student exchange. The two sides exchanged views on the internationalization of education and international cooperation in educational programs.
The meeting has laid a good foundation for deepening and broadening the cooperation between SUIBE and the University of Zagreb, and helped further promote the cooperation between the two sides in the fields of science and technology, education, economic and trade.
Student exchange program between the two universities and the Erasmus Program have enabled 16 SUIBE students to study in the University of Zagreb in the past five years. The ongoing faculty exchange program has seen four SUIBE faculty members and will see another four as visiting scholars to the University of Zagreb. Six teachers from their side have been to SUIBE for academic exchanges and another four will be at SUIBE as visiting scholar or lecturer.
