SUIBE Becomes One of the Founding and Council Members of GAFSU

Vice President Nie Qing attended the Presidents’ Forum of the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities (GAFSU) & the 2017 Forum on Regional Studies and Global Governance held in Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on May 18th and 19th and signed A Letter of Agreement on behalf of SUIBE, one of the founding members and council members of GAFSU. Tian Xuejun, China’s Vice Minister of Education and Du Yue, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the National Commission of the People's Republic of China for UNESCO attended the event. Zou Nannan, Director of the International Affairs Office of SUIBE and Wang Guanglin, Dean of the School of Languages of SUIBE participated in the forum.

GAFSU is an open, non-profit, non-corporate, voluntary body of well-known universities specialized in foreign language teaching, research and regional studies. 14 Chinese universities including SUIBE, BFSU, and Beijing International Studies University and 16 countries from other countries including Azerbaijan University of Languages and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies have joined the GAFSU as its founding members. GAFSU serves as a platform for educational cooperation to facilitate foreign language teaching and research, country and regional studies as well as people-to-people exchange under the principles of solidarity, mutual trust, and win-win cooperation.
