Mr. David Joyce, International Program Officer of the University of South Wales (USW), UK, and Ms. Ella Tang, Director of China Office of USW, visited SUIBE on the afternoon of 20 March. Ms. Zou Nannan, Director of International Exchange, and Ms. Yang Xiaoyan, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, and Program Leaders from different schools of SUIBE met with the British guests.
During the meeting, the two sides briefed each other on the general situation of their universities such as program features, talent cultivation and academic curriculums. Both sides believed that there was a good match between the two universities in academic areas, particularly in business education, and wished to start with cooperation in student exchange and joint programs that would lead to cooperation in faculty exchange and joint research programs. The visit helped the two universities establish formal contacts, paving the way for further collaboration.
As the sixth largest university in the UK by student number, USW was formed in April 2013 from the merger of the hundred-year-old University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. Renowned for its high standard of education, USW continued to rank the first in employment of its graduates among UK universities in 2011 and its business school was ranked the 12th in the UK by Encyclopaedia Britannica. USW is an ACCA Platinum Approved Learning Partner, the highest level of accreditation that a tuition provider can obtain. USW works with industry in its logistics program, and many of its business courses are certified by leading professional bodies.
