On 23 through 25 September, SUIBE hosted the Tenth AnnualConference of Asia Organization Development Network (AODN) at itsSongjiang campus. Organized by SUIBE School of ContinuingEducation, the AODN summit this year is themed “OrganizationDevelopment in Asia – Integrating Organization Development, HumanResources and Change Management”.
At the opening ceremony on the morning of 24 September, VicePresident Xu Yonglin, on behalf of SUIBE, extended a warm welcometo the delegates from around the world, and in particular, briefedthem on the latest developments of teaching and research at theuniversity. Dr. Lee Lu, Rotating President and Conference Chair ofAODN, Professor Sirichai Fonseka, Vice President of the AssumptionUniversity of Thailand, Professor Jiang Bo, Vice President ofTongji University in Shanghai, Professor Phylis Lin, the Universityof Indianapolis in the United States, and Professor Zhou Haiyi,Dean of School of Business at Hohai University in Nanjing,delivered keynote speeches. Professor Yang Xiaoyan, Dean of SUIBESchool of Continuing Education, presided at the ceremony.
In the topic-specific concurrent sessions that followed theplenary, more than 100 experts, scholars, doctoral students, andbusiness executives from such countries as China, the UnitedStates, India, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia,and the Philippines discussed in details a wide range of issues,for example, Developing Leadership in Asia, Exploring the Dynamicsof Change, Transforming Organizations in Asia, Building Diversityand Respecting Culture, and Creating a New and ExtensibleOrganization Development Learning Model in Asia.
The annual conference was recognized by the participants as a greatsuccess, which helps provide a new opportunity for SUIBE tostrengthen cooperation with ASEAN countries and other countriesimportant to China’s “One Belt, One Road” Initiative.
