On May 19, Dr. Hungdah Su, Director General of the European UnionCentre in Taiwan (EUTW), Prof. Chin Peng Chu, Director of the EUResearch Centre at National Dong Hwa University, and three otherexperts from EUTW visited SUIBE. Vice President Nie Qing met withthe delegation and participated in the academic exchanges on EUpolitics and economics.
Prof. Huang Jianzhong, Dean of the School of Business, AssociatedProf. He Huanlang, Acting Deputy Dean of the School of Business,Prof. Zhang Yongan, Director of the Research Centre for EuropeanEconomies, Prof. Gao Yunsheng, Director of the Department ofInternational Economics and Trade, Prof. Shang Hongyu, DeputyDirector of the Centre for Central and Eastern Europe Studies, andScholar Zhang Lin conducted academic exchanges with the expertsfrom Taiwan on topics such as the development of Europe, refugeeproblems in Europe, the relationship between the EU and Turkey,China’s cooperation with Central and Eastern European Countries,cross-straits economic cooperation and so on. It is the sharedaspiration of the two parties to further cooperation on Europeanstudies.
EUTW is a consortium consisting of 7 universities in Taiwan withNational Taiwan University (NTU) as the lead institution. TheChinese Association for European Studies and EUTW established theirexchange mechanism for European studies in 2011.
