On 16 January, the Forum on “World Economy: Looking Back at 2015and Looking Forward to 2016” and the Plaque Unveiling Ceremony forSUIBE Institute for the World Economy were held in SUIBE Songjiangcampus. Professor Huang Jianzhong, Dean of SUIBE School of Businessand Vice President of China Society of World Economics, ProfessorZhang Xiaoli, Director of SUIBE Institute for the World Economy(SIWE), and Professor Zhu Zhongdi, former director of World EconomyInstitute, among others, attended the conference.
Following the plaque unveiling ceremony for SIWE, the expertsparticipated in the Forum on “World Economy: Looking Back at 2015and Looking Forward to 2016”. Professor Huang Jianzhong reviewed,analyzed and assessed various mainstream academic opinions onChina’s economic situation, and offered his predictions of China’seconomic situation in 2016, examining its features, challenges andopportunities. Professor Zhang Yongan, Professor Wen Juan,Associate Professor Yin Ming, and Professor Shang Yuhong gave aspeech respectively on “An Outlook of China’s One Belt, One RoadInitiative”, “The Trans-Pacific Partnership and Asia-PacificIntegration: Policy Implications”, “Contrastive Research on TPPTrade Rules and China’s Current FTA”, and “The Economy of Centraland Eastern Europe”, followed with comments by Professor GaoYunsheng, Associate Professor Ye Zuoyi, Professor Wen Yaoqing,Associate Professor Zhang Jihong, and Professor Chen Hong.
Professor Zhang Xiaoli made concluding remarks at the forum. Whilelooking back at and looking forward to China’s economicdevelopment, Professor Zhang also put forth the working goals ofSIWE for 2016, expressing the commitment to continue to monitor newdevelopments in world economy and produce more and better research.In the afternoon, research teams at SIWE discussed their projectssupported by the National Fund for Social Sciences, with helpfuladvice provided by the scholars attending the forum.
