SUIBE President Visits Thailand’s Panyapiwat Institute of Management and National Institute of Development Administration

On 16-19 December, the SUIBE delegation led by President SunHaiming visited CP ALL Public Company Limited, Panyapiwat Instituteof Management (PIM), and National Institute of DevelopmentAdministration (NIDA) in Thailand. Members of the delegationincluded Mr. Xu Kai, Head of the Organization Department, Mr. QiuGuixi, Dean of the School of International Studies, and Ms. YangXiaoyan, Dean of the School of Continuing Education.

 

During the stay in Thailand, President Sun met with Mr. Cai Xufeng,Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of CP ALL PCL, Dr. SompopManarungsan, Chairman of PIM Council, and Dr. Pradit Wannarat,President of NIDA.

 

While visiting CP ALL PCL, President Sun spoke highly of itscontribution to the modernization of agriculture in China, anddiscussed cooperation projects with CP ALL such as studentinternship programs. When meeting with Dr. Sompop Manarungsan,Chairman of PIM Council, President Sun signed a framework agreementon cooperation between the two universities on student-teacherexchange and joint research.

President Sun also held talks with NIDA President Pradit Wannarat,reaching a wide range of consensus on student-teacher exchange andjoint research, and signed a framework agreement on cooperation andan agreement on student exchange programs. The two presidentsexpressed the wish to launch relevant cooperation projects at theearliest date possible. With a student population of some 8,000,NIDA is a prestigious public research-oriented graduate universityin Thailand concentrating exclusively on graduate studies. With ahigh academic and social standing in the country, NIDA is also aleading think-tank in Thailand, famed particularly for its researchon ASEAN affairs, and runs various training programs for seniorThai government officials.

PIM and NIDA are the first two universities in Thailand that havesinged cooperation agreements with SUIBE. The formal visit byPresident Sun to the two universities is expected to furtherpromote partnership between SUIBE and Thai universities in areassuch as academic research and teacher-student exchange.
