On the morning of 19 May, SUIBE Vice President Nie Qing met withthe delegation from the University of Poitiers (French: Universitéde Poitiers), headed by its Vice President Licia Bagini. Members ofthe French delegation also included Alain Mignot, Director Generalof the Confucius Institute at the University of Poitiers, DaiTianhua, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at theUniversity of Pointiers, and Wu Jiang, Director of the BridgingCourses Program at the China Scholarship Council.
During the talks, the two sides briefed each other on the latestdevelopments of their universities, discussed a wide range oftopics covering the modes of internationalization of highereducation, the Confucius Institute, Teaching Chinese as a ForeignLanguage, Teaching French as a Foreign Language, and employmentprospects of university graduates, and explored possible ways offuture collaboration in areas such as student exchange programs andjoint prep bridging courses. Both sides agreed to continue effortsto work out a cooperation framework agreement between the twouniversities on the basis of this meeting.
