On the afternoon of March 30, Prof. Damir Boras, Rector of theUniversity of Zagreb, Croatia, Prof. Ivana Čuković-Bagić,Vice-Rector of the University of Zagreb, and Krešimir Jurak,Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Croatiavisited SUIBE. President Sun Haiming met with the delegation. NieQing, Vice President, Zou Nannan, Director of the Office ofInternational Affairs, Wang Guanglin, Director of the Office ofConfucius Institutes, Ye Rong, Deputy Director of the Office ofConfucius Institutes and Director of the TCFL program were alsopresent at the meeting.
Rector Boras introduced the recent development at the University ofZagreb and expressed the willingness to expand cooperation withSUIBE. President Sun introduced the philosophy and objectives ofSUIBE’s endeavors to internationalize its education and expressedhis support for advancing student and faculty exchange programs incooperation with middle and eastern European universities. The twosides also exchanged ideas on the cooperation in establishing theBase for Middle and Eastern European studies at SUIBE and talentdevelopment.
