A four-member delegation headed by Mitsuru HARA, Deputy Directorfor China, Northeast Asia Division, Trade Policy Bureau, Ministryof Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan and Mr. FukunagaShigekazu, Consul of Japan to Shanghai visited SUIBE’s ResearchCentre for the Japanese Economy. The two sides exchanged ideas onthe economic performance of China and Japan and discussed thepossibilities for future cooperation. METI is a ministry of theGovernment of Japan, dealing with the implementation of industrialpolicies and trade policies in Japan. Technological innovation,business investment and international trade also fall into theresponsibilities of METI.
