On the afternoon of 23 March, President Sun Haiming met with adelegation from Canada's Ministry of Citizenship and Immigrationled by Minister Chris Alexander and officials from the CanadianConsulate-General in Shanghai. Also present at the meeting were NieQing, Vice President, SUIBE, Xu Dongfeng, Director of theInternational Affairs Office, SUIBE, Ling Jie, Director of theSUIBE-Douglas College cooperative program, Scott McApline,President of Douglas College, and Dr. Guangwei Ouyang, VicePresident of Douglas College.
On behalf of SUIBE, President Sun extended a warm welcome to theguests and introduced SUIBE’s strategy in the internationalizationof education. He said that SUIBE would be more actively engaged inpromoting closer cooperation with other prestigious universities inCanada.
After the meeting, Minister Alexander made a presentation on theCanadian immigration policies in its global strategy and exchangedwith students from the SUIBE-Douglas College cooperative program.
