Advisory and Research Base for Decision-making on High-level Opening-up and International Rules Unveiled

The Advisory and Research Base for Decision-making on High-levelOpening-up and International Rules (the Base) co-founded by theDevelopment Research Centre of the Shanghai Municipal Government(the Centre) and the Shanghai University of International Businessand Economics (SUIBE) was unveiled at the Professional DevelopmentCentre located on the Gubei Campus of SUIBE on 30 December 2013.Zhou Zhenhua, Director of the Centre, Zhu Jinhai, Deputy Directorof the Centre, Sun Haiming, President of SUIBE, and Ye Xingguo,Vice President of SUIBE attended the board-unveiling ceremony.

 

Deputy Director Zhu presented the Centre’s reply about approvingthe establishment of the Base. Director Zhou and President Sununveiled the board of the Base.

In his remarks, Director Zhou highlighted that there emerged a goodnumber of advisors from SUIBE who have made important contributionsto the economic and social development of Shanghai by producingsignificant achievements in theoretical and applied researches. Healso expressed the wish that the Base will, by integratingresources from various channels, help solve the theoretical andpractical issues in advancing the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free TradeZone and promote the further opening-up of Shanghai and China.

 

President Sun pointed out that SUIBE is undergoing a transitionfrom a teaching-based to a teaching- and research-based universityafter it was designated a university status. SUIBE attaches equalimportance to theoretical research and applied research. As auniversity, SUIBE shoulders an unshakeable responsibility foradvising on the social and economic development of Shanghai.Building upon its past achievements, SUIBE is committed to makingthe Base an important think tank in the field of high-levelopening-up and international rules that serves the opening-up ofShanghai.
