Prof. Syed Ejaz Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics andScience, Brock University gave a scholarly presentation onPerspectives on Human Bias versus Machine Bias:Big Data Analysis?to the teachers and students of the School of Business InformationManagement during his recent visit to SUIBE.
Leaders of the School exchanged ideas with Prof. Ahmed on thecutting-edge issues of statistics education and research againstthe backdrop of big data development, and discussed researchcollaboration possibilities, which led to a consensus between thetwo sides.
Prof. Ahmed is a Pakistani Canadian statistician. He is a Fellow ofAmerican Statistical Association and associate editor and guesteditor of some internationally prominent journals on statistics.Before joining Brock, he was the Head of the Department ofMathematics and Statistics at the University of Regina and Head ofDepartment of Mathematics and Statistics at the University ofWindsor. With over two decades of experience in statisticseducation and research and more than 100 published articles, he hasmade great contributions to researches on theoretical statisticsand applied statistics, statistics education, and the role ofstatistics in social services.
