SUIBE Think Tank Project Approved

The project of “Joint Research Center on International TradeGovernance and China’s Reform and Open-up” submitted by ProfessorZhang Lei, chair-holder of the WTO Chair Program at SUIBE and Deanof SUIBE School of WTO Research and Education, has recently beenapproved among the first batch of 2013 think tank projects inShanghai universities and colleges. It is learned that after tworounds of reviews, 18 think tank projects have been approved out of149 projects submitted by 26 universities in Shanghai, including 7universities run by China’s Ministry of Education and 19universities run by the Shanghai Municipal Government.

 

Through cooperative research between SUIBE, the Geneva-basedInternational Center for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD),and the Honolulu-headquartered East-West Center (EWC), the JointResearch Center on International Trade Governance and China’sReform and Open-up is a think thank on international trade andeconomy based on the WTO Chair Program at SUIBE and brings togethera team of researchers from the WTO, the United Nations Conferenceon Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the UN Economic and SocialCommission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), the WorldIntellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and prestigiousuniversities around the globe.
