Collaborative Innovation Center of China (Shanghai) Pilot FTZ Unveiled

The Collaborative Innovation Center of China (Shanghai) Pilot FreeTrade Zone was unveiled at the first Shenjiang Forum held inShanghai University of Finance and Economics (SHUFE) on 26 October.The Center is jointly organized by SUIBE, SHUFE, University ofInternational Business and Economics (UIBE), and East ChinaUniversity of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). On behalf ofSUIBE, President Sun Haiming co-signed the framework agreement onestablishing the Center. Associate Research Fellow Li Mosi,Institute of International Business, SUIBE made a presentation onthe interpretation of FTZ negative list.

 

According to the agreement, the Center will focus on researches anddiscussions on FTZ-related theories, practice, legal affairs, riskwarnings, and transformation of administration, through aninnovation-based approach in terms of theory, institution andtalent development, so as to provide knowledge and talent supportfor the FTZ and for the economic development of China. With an aimof building itself into a think tank, talent pool, and informationbank, the Center is also dedicated to developing courses inrelevant discipliness, building cross-disciplinary teams forcutting-edge academic research collaboration, and organizinghigh-level workshops and forums.

After the signing ceremony, President Sun attended the firstmeeting of the first Council of the Center where the regulations ofthe Center and list of Academic Board members were agreed upon andupcoming events were discussed.
