12th KAS-SIFT WTO Forum Held in Shanghai

 

The Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and theKonrad-Adenauer-Stiftung held an international symposium inShanghai on the “Impact of the Global Sovereign Debt Crisis onEmerging Countries” on November 24th. The symposium provided aplatform for an analysis of the roots and implications of theglobal sovereign debt crisis, and how to avoid or reduce relatedspillover effects.

SIFT VP Ye Xingguo made a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.Dr. Masahiro Kawai, Dean and CEO of Asian Development BankInstitute, Clyde Prestowitz, President of Economic StrategyInstitute and former US Trade Negotiator, Porametee Vimolsiri,Deputy Secretary-General of Office of the National Economic andSocial Development Board Thailand together with experts fromgovernment advisory bodies, research institutions and universitiesin Germany, US, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand and China offeredviews from their respective perspectives
