Mid-Autumn Party Held for International Students under Chinese Government Scholarship

On the afternoon of 29 September 2012, SIFT School of InternationalStudies hosted a Mid-Autumn Festival Tea Party for internationalstudents studying at SIFT on the Chinese Government Scholarshipprogram. Twenty-nine students from 23 countries such as Azerbaijan,Antigua and Barbuda, Panama, Equatorial Guinea, Russia, theDemocratic Republic of the Congo, Vanuatu, Slovenia, Benin, andCosta Rica joined the party to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.Mr. Qiu Guixi, Dean of the School of International Studies presidedat the party.

 

At the party, Mr. Qiu gave the international students his season’sgreetings, briefed them on the latest developments after SIFTbecame a designated institution to receive Chinese GovernmentScholarship students, and expressed the hope that they would, inthe near future, serve as an envoy of friendship between China andtheir countries. In addition to tea, the traditional Chinesemoon-cakes, a must-eat food for the Mid-Autumn Festival, were alsoserved.
