Prof. Satoru NAKAMOTO from Osaka City University Visits SIFT

On September 26, 2011, at the invitation of the School of Business,Professor Satoru NAKAMOTO from Osaka City University visited SIFTand gave a lecture in English on “Globalization, Global City andCreative City” to SIFT graduates majoring in International Trade.The lecture was chaired by Prof. Zhang Hong, Director of theGraduate Office.

 

Prof. Satoru defined “Globalization” with a “3W” theory. Using themodels proposed by Stephen Hymer and Saskia Sassen, he made acomparative study on “Global City” and illustrated the attributesof a global city with New York as an example.

 

Shanghai and Osaka are sister cities. As part of the exchangeprograms between the two cities, SIFT and Osaka City Universityconduct mutual faculty exchanges on a yearly basis.
