On the afternoon of September 16, 2011, Vice President Xu Xiaoweimet with John Quirk, Director of International Affairs of theUniversity of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Tim Steel, Head ofInternational Resources of UCLan. Qiu Guixi, Dean of the School ofInternational Studies, Zou Nannan, Party Sectetary of the School ofTourism and Event Management, Jiang Xiujuan, Deputy Dean of theSchool of Tourism and Event Management, Yang Xiaoyan, Deputy Deanof the School of International Education, Xu Kai, Deputy PartySecretary of the School of Foreign Languages, Wang Yanyan, DeputyDean of the School of Foreign Languages were present at themeeting.
VP Xu extended, on behalf of SIFT, warm welcome to the guests fromUCLan and briefed them on the recent development of SIFT and SIFT’sefforts in international exchanges. She also expressed the wishthat the two universities can further deepen faculty and studentexchanges. The two sides reviewed the training sessions received bysome SIFT faculties this summer at UCLan and discussed detailsabout establishing a Teachers Development Centre. Both sides agreedto further continue their cooperation in SIFT-UCLan joint programsat different levels and strengthen student exchanges.
