"International Trade in Services: Literature Review” , edited byShen Dayong and Jin Xiaobo from the Institute of InternationalBusiness of SIFT, was published by the People’s Publishing Houseand earned high marks from Sha Hailin, Deputy Secretary-General ofShanghai Municipal People's Government and Chairman of ShanghaiMunicipal Commission of Commerce. He believes that the book takes aguiding position in promoting trade in services in Shanghai, andasked related departments of Shanghai Municipal Commission ofCommerce to read the book and strengthen the cooperation with theInstitute of International Business of SIFT in relevant researches.
Trade in services is considered as a major research area of theInstitute of International Business. By the year of 2009, threemonographs had been published, among which is Jin Xiaobo’s Englishmonograph “A Research On the Opening of Chinese Education Servicesunder the WTO” (published by the University of InternationalBusiness and Economics Press).
In the year of 2010, continuing to cooperate with ShanghaiMunicipal Commission of Commerce, the Institute of InternationalBusiness will explore the possibilities of conducting cooperationwith Taiwan in the field of service trade, and work closely in thisregard with international research institutes such as theUniversity of Michigan, OECD, etc. Besides, the Institute isplanning to publish two monograph series this year, namely “TradeBarriers to Financial Services” and “A Research on Offshore Servicein Multinationals”.
