SIFT Student Won Two Prizes in Han Suyin Award for Young Translators

Word came from the 21st Han Suyin Award for Young Translators inBeijing that Ren Liping, SIFT postgraduate majored in ForeignLinguistics and Applied Linguistics, won the third prize in the E-CTranslation and the honorary mention in the C-E Translation. Amongover one hundred participants, only two won two prizes at the sametime. Ren Liping’s success results from her well-grounded Englishabilities.

 

The Han Suyin Award for Young Translators, co-sponsored by theTranslators Association of China and Chinese Translators Journal,has witnessed 21 competitions. It is one of the highest-levelcompetitions for translators in China, offering the participants anarena to show their translation abilities and to compete fairly.1253 people ran for the competition, making it the largest one everin terms of participation. Among them are teachers in colleges anduniversities, undergraduates and post-graduates, as well asfreelance and amateur translators.

 

It is reported that SIFT has won the bid to host the 22nd Han SuyinAward for Young Translators.
