On 8th November, the 7th CHINA DAILY ECNU-ACC Cup China-AustraliaFriendship English Contest (East China) was held at ShanghaiUniversity of Engineering Science. Pan Xianglong, a seniorundergraduate from SIFT, majoring in business English, won thesecond price after fierce competition of prepared speech, impromptuspeech and Australian knowledge quiz. Professor Long Maozhong fromthe School of Foreign Languages for International Business preparedhim for this contest.
Students from 27 colleges and universities of East Chinaparticipated in the contest. The contest aimed to deepen students'understanding of Australia and to promote the popularity anddevelopment of Australian research.
