Professor Li Huiwen’s Team Publishes Research in Social Sciences in China

Professor Li Huiwen’s research team from the School of International Business at SUIBE recently published a paper in Social Sciences in China, a leading journal in the field of social sciences. The paper was co-authored by Feng Hao, a lecturer at the School of International Business, and Liang Yuanbo, a 2023 master’s graduate of SUIBE.

The paper represents a phased research outcome of Professor Li’s team in pursuing its research philosophy of “conducting economic research grounded in the real world” and its educational philosophy of “enhancing students’ overall competence through scientific research.” The team has been conducting in-depth research on the important topic of “urbanization and economic development in an open major economy from the perspective of the mutually reinforcing dual-circulation development paradigm.”

By dividing urbanization into “urbanization through population concentration in cities” and “townization through population concentration in small towns,” the paper reexamines the spatial patterns and stages of China’s urbanization.
