On the afternoon of July 29, a delegation led by Sun Donghai, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province, visited SUIBE for a symposium. The discussions centered on boosting the global competitiveness of Anhui-based enterprises and advancing the province’s high-standard opening-up. SUIBE President Wang Rongming presided over the meeting.
Wang Rongming welcomed the delegation and thanked the department for its trust and support for SUIBE. He noted that the institution will further leverage its strengths including the discipline cluster for open economy studies and high level think tanks. It will advance special topic research with high quality outcomes, deepen cross field cooperation and exchanges between the department and the university, and align its work precisely with Anhui’s needs for high quality commercial development during the 15th Five Year Plan period. The university will support Anhui in building itself into the “Three Zones and One Area” (namely a zone for innovation, a zone for emerging industries, a zone for reform and opening-up, as well as an area of green development). They will work closely to serve national strategies, including the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Sun Donghai acknowledged SUIBE for its active contribution to Anhui's high-standard opening-up. He expressed hope that both sides would use their joint research projects as a springboard for closer collaboration. By leveraging SUIBE’s academic strengths, they aim to help local firms overcome hurdles in going global, foster new growth drivers, and make tangible contributions to regional socio-economic development.
The discussions also covered Anhui’s open economy, global competitiveness of enterprises and collaborative think tank initiatives.
