On the morning of June 8, SUIBE President Zhu Guohong met with the three-member delegation from the University of Economics in Bratislava (UEBA) in the Slovak Republic, including Professor Ferdinand Daňo, Rector of UEBA, and Associate Professor Boris Mattoš, Vice Rector for International Relations. After the meeting, the two presidents signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.

President Zhu welcomed the Slovak guests and explored ways of potential cooperation between the two universities, such as student and staff exchange, academic collaboration, and joint programs in language teaching. The two sides briefed each other on the current situation of their universities.

The meeting will expand the cooperation between SUIBE and universities in Central and Eastern Europe, laying the groundwork for future cooperation between SUIBE and UEBA in particular.

Established in 1940, UEBA is the one of the most prestigious universities and the oldest university of economics in Slovak. The university has more than 600 teachers, including 74 professors and over 100 associate professors, and some 12,000 students. It includes seven faculties, including 19 undergraduate programs, 31 master’s programs and 16 doctoral programs, and offering over 80 programs of foreign languages (including English, German, French, Spanish and Russian) and three programs conducted entirely in foreign languages. Based on its number of students with overseas studying and training experience, it has been twice named by the EU among the “Erasmus Success Stories”. It is a member of various international institutions, such as European University Association (EUA), European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and Higher Education and Research in Management of European Universities (HERMES).
