SUIBE Vice President Nie Qing met with Dr. Kilaparti Ramakrishna,Director of the East and North-East Asia (ENEA) Office of theUnited Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and thePacific (ESCAP) at Songjiang campus on 26 February.
During the meeting, Vice President Nie briefed Dr. Ramakrishna onthe latest developments of the university and discussed ways tohelp SUIBE students find internship opportunities in internationalorganizations affiliated to the UN.
After the talks, Dr. Ramakrishna, accompanied by Vice PresidentNie, visited Shanghai Collegiate Internship Center forInternational Business, Moot Court and WTO Reference Center locatedat SUIBE.
As one of the five regional commissions of the United NationsEconomic and Social Council, ESCAP is the first and the mostrepresented multilateral intergovernmental organization foreconomic and social development established in Asia and thePacific. With a view to encouraging economic and social developmentthrough regional and sub-regional cooperation, ESCAP serves as aleading forum of the UN on the matter of economic and socialdevelopment in Asia and the Pacific.
