On 9 December, SUIBE established the Artificial Intelligence and Change Management Research Institute, the first of its kind in the country. Present at the launch ceremony were Professor Yang Xueshan, former vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Professor Emmanuelle Vaast, McGill University, Canada; Mr. Wu Xuening, Chief Data Scientist at SAP Silicon Valley Innovation Center; Mr. Wang Qingyao, President of the Industry 4.0 Association; Mr. Mi Kai, Development Director at SAP Labs China; Mr. Zhang Jie, CEO of Shanghai Zhiyan Internet Technology Co. Ltd.; Professor Wu Ji, Tsinghua University; Mr. Wu Xu, Executive Vice President of Jiangsu Huaxin Blockchain Research Institute; Professor Gao Qiqi, Director of the Political Science Institute of East China University of Political Science and Law.
In his speech, Professor Zhu Guohong, SUIBE President, expressed his hope that the Artificial Intelligence and Change Management Research Institute would one day become a leading research platform with national and international impact and competitiveness to better serve the economic development of Shanghai and the rest of China by bringing into full play its multidisciplinary studies, integrating and synthesizing domestic and overseas resources, and building a cross-school, cross-university, cross-border, and cross-disciplinary research team which would promote industry-university-research collaboration.
Professor Yang Xueshang, Professor Emmanuelle Vaast, and Mr. Wang Qingyao also delivered remarks at the ceremony. Pointing out that the current society was witnessing a historic change from the indrstrial age through the information age to the intelligence age, Mr. Wang in his remarks stressed the profound practical and historical significance of the SUIBE Artificial Intelligence and Change Management Research Institute, the first ever in China.
Professor Yin Yao, Chair of SUIBE Executive Board, and Mr. Yang Xueshang unveiled the plaque of the research institute. The appointment ceremony was also held for the Academic Committee and the Industry Advisory Committee for the research institute. The white paper titled “Redefining Learning” was jointly released at the launch ceremony by the research institute and Shanghai Zhiyan Internet Technology Co. Ltd, which detailed talent criteria, educational approaches, and learning models. Partnered with Shanghai Zhiyan Internet Technology Co. Ltd., the research institute is said to publish a quarterly white paper on corporate learning and talent development.
