SUIBE’S 1st International Students Culture Festival Opens


The 1st International Students Culture Festival SUIBE kicked off on June 7 on Songjiang Campus. Organized by the School of International Studies, the Festival aimed at presenting the cultures where the international students are originally from, enhancing students’ cross-cultural communication abilities, and providing a platform for exchanges between Chinese and international students. Vice President Nie Qing attended the opening ceremony. Qiu Guixi, Dean of the School of International Studies extended welcoming remarks and declared the opening of the Festival.

The theme of the Festival is Global Village. Placed alphabetically in two lines, there were 22 tables, each dedicated to presenting one culture, as well as one consultation table. Each culture was presented in multiple ways such as billboard, brochures, videos, etc. Chinese students attending the Festival voted the most popular culture table. Students from Russia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, ROK, and Moldova also performed singing and dancing to demonstrate the essence of their respective cultures.

Almost 1000 Chinese and international students participated in the Festival and conducted exchanges on this multi-cultural platform.
